Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer – AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift (m/f/d)

Who we are

Rockstardevelopers, founded in 2015 in Mannheim, with additional offices in Stuttgart and Munich. We are a software development company with experience from hundreds of individual projects for enterprise and mid-sized clients.

Short paths, honest feedback, no political games. No hierarchy levels between you and the people making decisions.

Your tasks

• Setup and operation of cloud infrastructure (AWS, partly Azure) in enterprise and regulated environments
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Co-designing cloud architecture – costs, security, scaling
• Automation, monitoring/observability, troubleshooting time-critical incidents
• DevOps culture: close collaboration with dev teams, security, and product owners
• Developing productively with AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)

Most people come to one of the offices one to two days a week. There is no obligation. On-site at the client only for individual appointments every few weeks, mostly in Frankfurt am Main.

Where you will land

Depending on the project: Large corporations like Deutsche Bahn / DB Systel, public sector (Bundesagentur für Arbeit, ITZBund, Bundesdruckerei), as well as enterprise and mid-sized clients – in each case focusing on cloud and platform topics.

Our clients almost exclusively staff these projects with permanent employees. That's why we are looking for you as a permanent employee.

What you bring

Senior level. Our clients need people who deliver from day one and work independently.

• In-depth AWS knowledge – architecture and operation (ideally AWS certification: Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer)
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (or CloudFormation), Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions; Git, agile working
• Linux as well as network and security fundamentals
• Scripting: Python, Bash or Go

Advantageous: IAM (One Identity, Keycloak), Cloud Security, Monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), Apache Kafka, Azure or GCP, Go for platform tooling, Event-driven architectures, GitOps (ArgoCD), AWS cost optimization.

You don't have to know everything. The important thing is that you can quickly get to grips with new environments. German language at C1 level or higher.

AI tools are mandatory, not a bonus

Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor: You must be able to work productively with them. Not because we want to be hip, but because our clients expect it and that's how we work. If you consider AI tools a hype and prefer to type everything yourself: wrong company. Internally, we invest in your AI skills.
