CIMA+ is currently seeking applications for the position of Senior CAD Designer /Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of multidisciplinary municipal functional, preliminary, and detailed design plans in the areas for roadways, intersections improvements, and active transportation facilities, all in a team-based environment working collaboratively to deliver a wide range of municipal transportation engineering projects.

This role can be based in either our London or Kitchener office

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design drawings and assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates associated with municipal infrastructure projects such as new and/or the rehabilitation of regional arterial roads, collector roads, local roads, and bike trails.

  • Assist in the integration of multi-disciplinary input into the design process from specialists in areas such as traffic engineering, transportation safety, structural engineering, stormwater management, water/wastewater process, geotechnical engineering, and environment/ecology.

  • Coordinate with utility stakeholders and regulatory agencies and prepare materials for inclusion in permit application packages to secure approvals.

  • Ensure that the projects needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • Work under the direction of Senior Staff and collaborate with CADD staff working within the group.

  • Review shop drawings and other contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents.
