Senior Cisco Security Engineer – Network & Incident Response

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Cisco Security Engineer in Durban, South Africa. This role involves providing IT security and network infrastructure support, monitoring systems for cyber threats, and managing the deployment of new security technologies. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in Cisco networking technologies and security architecture. Strong skills in incident response and troubleshooting are essential, alongside proficiency with industry standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and relevant compliance regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure network infrastructure using Cisco technologies, including ASA firewalls, VPNs, and routers. Additionally, the role requires expertise in incident response and threat hunting, utilizing tools such as Splunk, ELK Stack, and other security information and event management (SIEM) systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience with security orchestration, automation, and compliance (SOAR) platforms, such as Phantom or Demisto.
