We are Emma – The Sleep Company. Founded in 2015, we have grown into the world’s largest direct-to-consumer (D2C) sleep brand, with a presence in over 20 markets and more than 35 Emma stores across Europe.

Our mission is simple: to develop sleep comfort products that empower our customers to awaken their best every day. Today, our products are trusted by millions and recommended by leading consumer associations worldwide.

It’s our people who bring this mission to life. At Emma, you’ll join a driven, international team that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous knowledge sharing. With colleagues from over 70 nationalities, we combine diverse perspectives with a shared ambition to learn, grow, and create lasting impact, together.

Ready to awaken your best with us?

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen Emma and our e-commerce team. As Senior Business Development Manager for Austria, you will be responsible for key parts of the market's sales from start to finish. You will help define the strategy, drive growth, and shape the customer experience. You will be a key player in our E-Commerce Europe team and contribute to cross-country and cross-functional initiatives, with regular exchange with senior management.

You will report to the Country Manager Austria and work closely with teams from across the company, from Global Marketing, Business Excellence, and Category Management to Operations and our other e-commerce country teams.

Your tasks:
  • Responsibility for the P&L of all 3 product categories in Austria with a focus on profitable growth and margin improvement.
  • Definition and implementation of the strategy for our categories (mattresses, beds, and accessories) – adapting the global assortment to the Austrian market and identifying new segment opportunities.
  • Driving pricing excellence: Responsibility for the local pricing strategy across channels and products to maximize revenue and margin.
  • Leading go-to-market initiatives for new product launches in Austria, in collaboration with Global Product Success, Sourcing, Marketing, and UX teams.
  • Managing the entire product lifecycle: Planning and coordinating phase-ins/phase-outs for timely and cost-effective development of the portfolio.
  • Execution of campaign and sales planning in coordination with your marketing counterpart to ensure an effective promotions calendar.
  • Collaboration with the Regional Webshop Team to improve digital conversion and category presentation.
  • Collaboration with Operations and Sourcing to improve the cost structure and delivery performance for the Austrian market.

  • Who We Are Looking For:
  • Fluent English and German language skills required.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in Category Management, Business Strategy, or Consulting – ideally in e-commerce, retail, or the consumer goods industry.
  • Strategic, analytical thinking with strong commercial acumen – you understand pricing, margin drivers, and portfolio management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You take full responsibility, act decisively, and proactively identify growth opportunities.
  • Cross-functional implementer: You bring teams together, manage dependencies, and deliver with high standards.
  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-growing environment.

  • What We Offer:
  • The opportunity to make a real impact, take on responsibility, and drive meaningful change.
  • Continuous learning and development through practical experience, mentoring, formal training, and access to tools such as our Learning Hub and the Coaching & Mental Health platform Nilo.
  • A collaborative community of smart, motivated people with whom you can learn, collaborate, and network every day.
  • A global environment with daily collaboration across 4 locations and over 70 nationalities.
  • 25 vacation days per year, with 1 additional day per year worked (up to a limit of 30 days per year).
  • A flexible hybrid model with up to 22 remote days per quarter, as well as an office in Gutleutviertel - Frankfurt.
  • Become an Emmie

We are on a mission to become No.1 in the world of sleep, and we’re looking for driven, ambitious people to help us shape what’s next. If you’re curious, hands-on, and ready to challenge the status quo, you’ll find the space here to make things happen and create real impact.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building an inclusive workplace. We celebrate diversity and consider all qualified applicants regardless of race, ethnic origin, religion or belief, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age.

Our aim is to get back to you within a few days. Due to the high volume of applications, there may be slight delays, but we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
