Senior Business Controller | RVO

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Controller for the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Temporary reinforcement is needed within the Planning & Control team of Financial Advisory Services due to high workload, the departure of a controller, and the implementation of the Financially Sound program, aimed at strengthening financial steering and further professionalizing the planning and control function.

As a Senior Business Controller, you will advise management and the executive board on financial and business issues. You will make a significant contribution to the financial steering, control, and future-proofing of a large public implementing organization. Additionally, you will play an active role in improving and standardizing planning and control processes.

This assignment is interesting for professionals with experience within the central government, an agency, or a large implementing organization who want to make an impact on strategic financial issues, business control, management reports, and organization-wide change initiatives.

Tasks and responsibilities

1. You will advise management and the executive board on financial and business issues.

2. You will assess business cases, investment proposals, and project proposals on financial feasibility, risks, and efficiency.

3. You will advise on appropriate control measures and financial steering.

4. You will provide financial analyses, management information, and reports to support decision-making.

5. You will act as a strong sparring partner for management, project leaders, and colleagues.

6. You will contribute to the professionalization and standardization of planning and control processes.

7. You will be deployable across various organizational units, depending on organizational needs.

What do we ask?

Requirements:

• You have completed a university-level education in Business Economics, Finance & Control, Accountancy, or Public Administration.

• You have at least 4 years of demonstrable experience as a Business Controller within the central government, an agency, and/or a large implementing organization with more than 3,000 employees.

• You have demonstrable experience with planning & control, budgeting processes, financial analyses, and management reports.

Additional wishes:

• You have experience in preparing administrative advice.

• You have experience in presenting financial analyses to management.

• You have knowledge of and experience with improving planning and control processes and management information.

• You have experience with organization-wide change initiatives

Number of hours: 32 to 36 hours per week

Assignment length: 6 months with an option for extension
