Senior Accountant (m/f/d)

To strengthen our finance department, we are looking for you as an experienced Senior Accountant (m/f/d), who is not only technically sound in accounting but also actively participates in daily operations with a strong hands-on mentality. You will take on responsibility in operational accounting from the outset and contribute your expertise to the further development of processes and procedures. Progressively, it is intended that you will take on the technical responsibility for our three-person team in accounting as the next step, thus taking on an important key role in our finance department.

• Independent management of current financial accounting according to HGB, especially in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting

• Participation in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB

• Performance of account reconciliations and clarification and booking of transactions in the general ledger

• Support in the preparation of evaluations, reports, and business analyses for management and departments

• Involvement in liquidity planning and support in payment transactions and dunning

• Ensuring proper accounting in compliance with legal, tax, and internal regulations

• Contact person for accounting questions within the company as well as for tax advisors, auditors, and external service providers

• Involvement in tax-relevant issues, particularly in the area of value-added tax, in coordination with external consultants

• Support in the further development and optimization of accounting processes, guidelines, and internal controls

• Participation in projects in the finance department, e.g., in digitalization, ERP further development, or optimization of reporting structures

• Depending on the team structure, technical support and guidance for colleagues in accounting

Technical Requirements:

• Successfully completed commercial apprenticeship with further training as a Certified Accountant (IHK) or completed business administration degree with a focus on accounting/finance or comparable qualification

• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, ideally in a medium-sized company

• Very good knowledge of HGB and sound experience in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Good knowledge in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting

• Proficient in using ERP systems, ideally SAP R/3, as well as very good MS Excel skills; experience with BI tools is an advantage

• Good knowledge of VAT issues; further tax knowledge is an advantage

• Structured, meticulous, and independent way of working, as well as a high degree of reliability

• Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of operational work in daily business

• Analytical thinking skills and affinity for numbers, processes, and systems

• Good German language skills, written and spoken; English skills are an advantage
