Senior Policy Advisor Youth and Education

For Gemeente Coevorden, we are looking for a Senior Policy Advisor Youth and Education.
As senior policy advisor Youth and Education, you will shape the transition within the youth and education domain of a third party from an integral and future-oriented perspective. In this transition, you will work on equal opportunities for children and youth. The starting point is that not the child, but rather its environment stands central: by strengthening contexts, you create sustainable solutions. With conviction and vision, you move in the complex playing field where education, youth, and society come together.
You think ahead, see opportunities, and translate these into concrete steps. You work goal-oriented and switch seamlessly between strategy, implementation, and the dynamics of daily practice. From your advisory role, you provide requested and unrequested advice to the alderman, prepare council and board proposals, and steer projects and tasks within your area of attention.
You keep a sharp eye on available resources and deliver input for the administrative planning and control cycle. You maintain good contact with society and remain alert to what is happening within the local community in your field. You build strong relationships with schools, cooperation partners, and colleagues, signal developments, and ensure that policy actually contributes to opportunities for youth in Coevorden.
What you bring into action
You develop innovative policy and implement new legislation within Youth and Education from an integral approach. You connect youth help, education, prevention, and other relevant policy fields and contribute to creating a healthy, safe, and stimulating environment for children and youth.
You are responsible for multiple themes within the youth and education policy, including the Reform Agenda Youth and the Implementation Agenda Youth and Education. You carry out the measure package, participate in regional consultation structures, and manage budgets carefully. Possibly, you will act as project leader of (complex) policy and change projects, where you focus on coherence, progress, quality, and result. You keep a sharp eye on progress and provide transparent accountability. You align with portfolio holders and provide administrative support at council meetings.
The team
You will join the Youth team, consisting of around 20 professionals, which forms part of the policy team within the social domain. You will work together with the teams Actively for Work and Social Support and colleagues who think ahead, take responsibility, and strengthen each other.
