Senior BAS Accountant

About Our Client
Our client is a multi-partner CA firm in the Rodney district, combining professional excellence with a friendly, approachable culture. The team is skilled, supportive, and knows how to have a laugh along the way, making it a place where hard work and humour go hand in hand.

You will be managing your own client portfolio which is varied, from tradies to rentals to investment portfolios and small to medium-sized businesses up to $5M, with plenty of variety and room to grow your skills.

About the Role

• Prepare financial statements, tax returns, GST, and all things compliance
• Act as the first point of contact for client queries, building strong relationships
• Project work such as budgets, forecasts for lending purposes and assistance with software
• Manage your client portfolio all while contributing to a positive, fun team culture
• Assist with training junior staff and completing workpaper reviews

About You

• At least 3 years of accounting experience within a New Zealand CA firm
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong integrity, work ethic, and professionalism
• Proven experience with Xero, Xero Workpapers, XPM, and Excel
• Confident in client-facing roles or have a desire for client-facing work
