We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer (m/w/d) for the technical conception and further development of a central Application Framework based on Backstage. In this role, you will support the setup, extension, and maintenance of an internal developer portal as well as the corresponding plugins and backend services.

Your tasks

• Development of technical concepts for extensions and adaptations of the existing portal infrastructure

• Designing scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions while adhering to IT and architecture standards

• Comprehensive analysis of the framework and portal architecture to evaluate technologies and interfaces

• Deriving technical recommendations and decision-making bases for future platform extensions

• Designing, developing, testing, and documenting tailored plugins for frontend and backend

• Integrating plugins into internal systems, services, and process chains as well as ensuring defined workflows

• Implementing functional and non-functional requirements to ensure performance, stability, and security

• Extending and configuring the backend for additional services as well as connecting internal tools, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines

• Creating and maintaining a comprehensive technical documentation including architecture overviews and API designs

Must-requirements

• At least 3 years of proven experience in conceiving, adapting, extending, and maintaining Backstage or comparable developer portals (e.g., based on Service Catalogs, Developer Platforms, or IDP solutions)

• Proven experience in developing and adapting Backstage plugins (frontend and backend plugins)

• At least 5 years of experience in developing backend services with NodeJS, preferably in the context of platform or integration solutions

• At least 4 years of experience in developing frontend applications with React

• At least 2 years of experience in conceiving and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Azure DevOps

May-requirements

• Experience with Azure or comparable cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), particularly in the context of cloud-native applications and platform services

• Proven experience in working with Docker and Kubernetes, particularly in operating and deploying platform services

The project will be carried out in a hybrid work model (approximately 90% remote / 10% on-site at the locations Berlin or Brussels).
