Senior Backstage Architect & Technical Lead (IDP) - Nearshore (m/f/d)

Conduct a structured technical audit of the existing PoC, evaluating architecture design, code quality, plugin structure, scalability and operational risks Define and establish the target architecture for a production-grade IDP, including component model, plugin boundaries, authentication architecture, multi-tenancy approach and data layer design Design standardized integration patterns for Atlantis, CI/CD systems and other DevOps toolchain components Design and implement core Backstage plugins as foundational building blocks of the platform Create, maintain, and document Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) Provide technical leadership by defining architecture principles, establishing development guidelines and enforcing code standards Proven hands-on expertise in the Backstage ecosystem (plugin development, catalog configuration, scaffolder templates, techDocs and custom authentication mechanisms) Kubernetes, Helm, and container-based platforms DevOps toolchain integrations (Git platforms, artifact repositories, secret management, observability systems) REST and GraphQL integration architectures Git-based workflows and GitOps principles Platform engineering Infrastructure Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) Nice-to-have: Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, especially Terraform and Atlantis Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Enterprise Identity & Access Management, especially Azure AD, Okta and SSO architectures A very renowned company Continuous support during the assignment High degree of personal responsibility IT is and always has been our core business that laid the foundation for Hays' success.
