Senior Backend Software Developer | Full-time or Part-time | Hybrid with regular presence in Dresden

As part of our collaborative and agile team, you contribute to effective products like Onctopus®, OnctoDose, and our Infusion Pump Interface by developing robust backend systems that drive our software and medical devices. Tasks

• Concept, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services and APIs for our medical software solutions
• Taking over the responsibility for the backend architecture and actively developing robust, high-performance systems
• Building and optimizing secure RESTful APIs (HTTP/OpenAPI) as well as implementing authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT)
• Conceptualizing and managing efficient data models with relational databases like PostgreSQL
• Implementing containerization and orchestration solutions (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable deployments
• Maintaining and continuously improving system performance using modern observability tools (logging, tracing, monitoring)
• Maintaining and developing CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and test infrastructure
• Ensuring high code quality through reviews, tests, and best practices throughout the codebase
• Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams like frontend, hardware, and regulatory affairs
• Making technological decisions and shaping the long-term architecture vision of our backend systems

Qualification

• Multiple years of practical experience in backend software development
• Safe handling of at least one object-oriented programming language
• Proficient English skills for professional communication within the team
• Fundamental experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience with or interest in containerization and orchestration technologies
• Experience in designing and developing secure HTTP APIs
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization standards
• Collaborative mindset for cooperation across hardware and software boundaries
• High level of technical self-responsibility and quality awareness in code
• Analytical approach to solving complex architectural challenges
• Experience in developing medical devices/software is an asset
