Senior Backend Nodejs Developer
Full Time
72000.00 - 102000.00
Job description
As a Backend Engineer at Shelf, you'll architect and build the distributed systems that make enterprise AI actually work. While others are chasing AI hype, we're solving the unglamorous but critical problem that determines whether AI succeeds or fails: data quality at scale. You won't just write code — you'll design architectures that handle petabytes of unstructured data, provision and optimize databases across multiple cloud regions, and build services that process millions of documents daily… **What you'll do** * Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems using Node.js and related technologies. * Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers to define and implement API specifications. * Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing large volumes of data. * Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. * Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality. * Troubleshoot and debug production issues. * Contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the backend systems. * Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in backend development. **What you should have** * 5+ years of experience in backend development. * Strong proficiency in Node.js and related frameworks (e.g., Express.js, NestJS). * Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). * Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). * Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). * Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). * Strong understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. **Bonus points** * Experience with AI/ML systems. * Experience with data processing and ETL pipelines. * Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. * Contributions to open-source projects.
