Senior Backend Engineer (Scala)

What we are looking for We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep functional programming expertise in Scala who is excited to solve complex production challenges. The right person treats engineering as craft, and is passionate about solving challenging problems at scale while contributing to a positive and collaborative culture. What you’ll do Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and performant backend services and APIs. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and frontend engineers. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Troubleshoot and debug production issues. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in backend engineering. Work with a diverse team of talented engineers. Who you are 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering. Strong proficiency in Scala and functional programming principles. Experience with building and maintaining RESTful APIs. Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP). Experience with testing frameworks and practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Bonus points Experience with microservices architecture. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
