As Sr. Backend Engineer, you develop scalable backend systems, APIs, and automation workflows. You work with Python, GCP, event-driven architectures, and integrate LLMs for intelligent processes. You use AI tools not only in our products but also in our development process and bring internal engineering to the next level.

You work closely with CTO, Data-, and Backend-Automation-Team together. We build a high-modern infrastructure to handle connection elements.

Aufgaben

Backend & APIs

• REST/GraphQL-APIs develop (Python)
• Cloud Functions on GCP build
• ERP-, CRM-, and supplier-APIs integrate
• PostgreSQL/Firestore/BigQuery– data modeling and performance optimization

Event-driven Architecture & Automation

• Event-driven systems with GCP Pub/Sub build
• Workflow orchestration (n8n, Airflow)
• Error handling, retry logic, monitoring

AI & LLM Integration

• LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, ...) for data extraction, routing, classification integrate
• Ai-agents for autonomous workflows build
• RAG-workflows, Vector DBs, prompt engineering
• Guardrails and error handling for non-determinism

AI-assisted Development

• Ai-tools (Cursor, Claude Code) effectively use
• Best practices for AI-assisted development in the team establish
• Code reviews, testing, CI/CD pipelines

Infrastructure

• CI/CD with GitHub Actions/Cloud Build
• Terraform (IaC)
• Monitoring, logging, alerting

Qualifikation

• 5+ years backend development, of which 2-3 years senior role
• Very good knowledge in Python
• Experience with serverless (Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda, etc.)
• Understanding event-driven architecture (Pub/Sub, MQ, Events)
• Experience with SQL & relational DBs (PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Safe handling of REST-APIs, Git & CI/CD
• Pramatism: MVP > perfection, speed > over-engineering

You use AI to make workflows smarter, not more complicated.

• LLM-integration for data extraction from emails, PDFs, request documents
• Intelligent routing & decision making with ML models
• Predictive pricing, forecasting & anomaly detection in processes
• Prompt engineering & optimization of LLM outputs
• Handling non-determinism: error handling, guardrails, feedback loops
• Clean data preparation for ML models and RAG workflows

Nice to have

• GCP experience (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)
• Practical experience with workflow/orchestration tools like n8n, Airflow, Zapier or make
• Terraform or IaC-tools
• Firestore / NoSQL
• Vector DBs, RAG, fine-tuning, CV APIs
• Industry knowledge: connection elements, B2B-commerce
