With our "Glocal" model, we connect national postal services in 23 countries over 441 corridors, operate consolidated line hauls, and transmit customs data electronically through our own developed Customs Engine. The result: international shipping at nearly national conditions – an average of 57% cheaper than classic cross-border shipping. Our customers include leading e-commerce retailers and media companies.

We have grown profitably, bootstrapped started, investor-financed scaled – and are now looking for reinforcement for building our own backend team.

Aufgaben

Your Role

• You develop the core of our platform further: Customs Engine, Shipping- and Fulfillment Portal, Carrier Interfaces, and our public APIs (CrossBorderX, Return Module).
• You shape the technical modernization actively – from the existing PHP/PostgreSQL basis to a modern framework architecture (Laravel/Symfony) and clean CI/CD processes.
• You integrate new postal services, carriers, and customer systems (REST, EDI, data imports) and implement regulatory requirements – for example, the new EU customs rules after the abolition of the €150 threshold.
• You take responsibility for architectural decisions, code quality, and reviews – and build with us a growing development team.

Qualifikation

• Degree or equivalent education in the field of computer science, media informatics, or a related discipline.
• Multiple years (5+ years) of experience in backend development with PHP; secure handling of modern frameworks (Laravel or Symfony).
• Fundamental knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with JavaScript frameworks like jQuery.
• Knowledge of C/C++ and experience with system-related libraries, such as the ImageMagick graphics library and native network APIs (Berkeley Sockets).
• Fundamental knowledge of PostgreSQL (data modeling, performance optimization, migrations).
• Experience in designing and operating REST APIs and system integrations; ideally familiar with logistics-, customs-, or e-commerce processes.
• Good understanding of responsive web design and UX optimization.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methods.
• Pasión for innovative technologies and interest in AI applications.
• Quality requirement: automated tests, code reviews, clean documentation are self-evident to you.
• Creativity, initiative, and the ability to master technical challenges – you want to shape, not just work.
• Team spirit and good communication skills.
• Very good German and English language skills.
