Senior Automation Test Engineer - Agile Consultancy

Location: Flexible UK-based (Remote or Office-based)
Client Site Visits: Weekly travel to London required
Clearance: Preference for candidates with existing high-level UK security clearance (You need to be a British Citizen who has lived here the last 5 years).

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Bens

About the Role:

A dynamic technical consultancy is seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer to join a fast-paced agile delivery team working on live projects within the Central Government sector. This is a hands-on role focused on implementing continuous automated testing within a CI/CD lifecycle.

You'll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, flexibility, and continuous learning. The team thrives on solving complex operational challenges with bespoke technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated test frameworks across UI & API
  • Perform manual and automated testing using open-source tools (e.g., Selenium, Java)
  • Apply agile methodologies including TDD, BDD, ATDD
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support exploratory testing
  • Engage in non-functional testing (Security, Performance, Accessibility, OAT)
  • Collaborate with QA teams to improve frameworks and processes

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong experience in both manual and automation testing
  • Proficient in Selenium and Java
  • Comfortable working in agile environments and driving best practices
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and emerging technologies
  • Eligible for UK security clearance (British passport holder, UK resident for past 5 years)
