Senior Automation Test Engineer – R&D Innovation | BIM6D Technologies

Join our R&D team as a Senior Automation Test Engineer and lead the charge in transforming our testing strategy through cutting‑edge automation. Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Responsibilities Lead Automation Strategy: Own and drive the automation testing process from inception to execution. Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, API, and potentially mobile applications. Collaborate with the development team to identify and resolve software defects. Stay abreast of the latest automation testing trends and tools. Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Execute automated tests and analyze results, identifying and reporting defects. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design reviews, and sprint planning. Performance and Load Testing: Design and execute performance and load tests to ensure application scalability and stability. Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. Team Collaboration and Mentorship: Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. Requirements Proven experience in automation testing, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies. Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar. Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar. Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or REST-assured. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Nice to Have Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
