Job description

We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Audit Manager to join our clients Not-for-Profit Audit team, specialising in the audit of not-for-profit organisations, charities, academies and public sector entities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity, compliance and transparency of our clients’ operations. As a Senior Audit Manager, you will lead complex audit engagements from planning through to reporting, ensuring adherence to UK GAAP, IFRS and relevant regulatory standards. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Audit Planning and Execution:** * Lead and manage audit engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services. * Develop and execute audit plans, including risk assessment, scoping, and the design of audit procedures. * Oversee fieldwork, ensuring the timely completion of audit tasks and adherence to audit methodologies. * Review audit work performed by junior team members, providing guidance and feedback. * **Client Management:** * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a primary point of contact. * Understand clients’ businesses, industries, and specific challenges. * Proactively communicate with clients regarding audit progress, findings, and recommendations. * **Technical Expertise and Compliance:** * Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements. * Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, auditing pronouncements, and regulatory guidelines. * Provide technical expertise and guidance to the audit team on complex accounting and auditing issues. * **Team Leadership and Development:** * Supervise, mentor, and coach junior team members. * Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. * Provide performance feedback and support the professional development of team members. * **Reporting and Analysis:** * Prepare and review audit reports, including financial statements and management letters. * Analyse financial data and identify areas of risk and potential improvements. * Present audit findings and recommendations to clients. **Qualifications and Experience:** * Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent). * Significant experience in audit, with a focus on not-for-profit organisations, charities, academies or public sector entities. * Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements. * Proven ability to lead and manage audit engagements effectively. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Experience in supervising and developing junior team members. **Benefits:** * Competitive salary. * Pension scheme. * Generous holiday allowance. * Professional development opportunities. * Opportunity to work with a diverse and interesting client base. * Flexible working arrangements (subject to discussion).
