Senior and Inquiries Specialists

The Audit Office | Te Mana Arotake aims to improve trust and confidence in public services by giving New Zealanders an independent view of government spending and performance. As the statutory auditor of all public organisations, the Auditor-General's work plays a major part in ensuring that our public sector remains one of the most trusted in the world. We're looking for an Inquiries Specialist and a Senior Inquiries Specialist to join our Inquiries team. This role is responsible for conducting inquiries into matters referred by Parliament or the Auditor-General, as well as providing support to other teams within the Office. The ideal candidate will have strong research and analytical skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include: • Conducting inquiries into matters referred by Parliament or the Auditor-General; • Providing support to other teams within the Office; • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders; • Preparing reports and recommendations for the Auditor-General; • Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken; • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, such as law, public administration, or accounting, and at least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
