Senior AI Engineer - LLM & Agents (w/m/d)

We are looking for an experienced developer to strengthen our internal unit – a powerful team that identifies processes, prepares KI skills, and sets them up productively. In this role, you will be hands-on in the middle and build the skills that will change processes tomorrow.

Aufgaben

• You are responsible for the complete development of KI skills and agents from the first use case idea to API-based deployment in ongoing operation.
• You will transform processes end-to-end into robust solutions using suitable LLMs and tools (including Langdock) – including deciding whether a high-end or cost-effective model is used.
• The conception and implementation of interfaces and system connections are entirely in your hands – from API development to binding with corporate data and systems (including SAP as the leading system), always considering the existing data architecture.
• You will carefully design the transition into productive operation: testing, documentation, and versioning belong just as much as rollout guidance directly on site in the respective departments where you will be used alternately.
• You will work actively with the governance model and ensure that developed solutions can be continued internally over the long term through targeted knowledge transfer.
• You will critically evaluate available models, platforms, and technical stacks – both from a technical and economic perspective.
• You will build and operate cloud and on-premise infrastructure based on Microsoft Azure (including Azure AI Foundry) and Linux – and decide where the use of KI brings the greatest added value.

Qualifikation

• A completed degree in (business-)informatics, mathematics, data science, physics or a comparable MINT discipline forms your professional foundation.
• You have more than three years of practical experience in the field of machine learning, LLMs, and agent architectures; a Ph.D. or relevant research/industrial experience is a plus.
• You have already implemented productive – not just prototypical – KI solutions that are based on LLMs, agents, prompt, and skill design, RAG, and tool use.
• You are proficient in Python and PowerShell, design and develop interfaces independently, and move confidently in cloud and on-premise environments – ideally with experience in Azure (including Azure AI Foundry) and Linux.
• You have a hands-on mentality, delivery orientation, and team skills, as well as genuine curiosity and the willingness to continuously learn.
• You have very good German language skills and good English language skills that complete your profile.
• In addition, you convince through a solid understanding of modern KI architectures and the ability to select suitable models, adapt them, and use them economically.
• Knowledge in dealing with generated code, data protection requirements, the EU AI Act, and experience with SAP and corporate data landscapes are a plus.
