Senior AI Engineer

About the Role (your why) As an AI Engineer – Apps (Senior IC), you will lead the development and operation of backend services that power agentic interactions and content ingestion at scale. You will: Own service-level outcomes (reliability, performance, cost) and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making, leveraging machine learning models to optimise system performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying AI-powered applications that meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop tailored solutions that drive business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications using various programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate machine learning models into production-ready systems. • Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable backend services that power agentic interactions and content ingestion at scale. • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop tailored solutions that drive business outcomes. • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making, leveraging machine learning models to optimise system performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning and apply this knowledge to improve our products and services. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for AI engineering within the team. What You'll Need: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in AI engineering, with a focus on developing and deploying AI-powered applications. • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction. • Experience with various programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
