Senior AI Engineer – Construction Tech (m/f/d)

Munich – Hybrid, €80,000 – €100,000 annual salary, 26–30 vacation days

Our Client
The company is a B2B SaaS scale-up in the construction tech environment, enabling the digital processing of orders, delivery notes, and invoices for construction companies with an AI-powered Supply Chain OS. With around 60 employees and based in the heart of Munich, it is one of the market leaders in Germany and works with the largest construction companies.

Responsibilities

• Lead MLOps processes: operate, scale, and secure infrastructure on Azure
• End-to-end lifecycle: implement AI features from pipeline design to production deployment
• Develop OCR/NLP solutions: extract structured data from orders, delivery notes, and invoices
• Incorporate uncertainty estimations: automatically forward documents for manual review if in doubt
• Establish quality and engineering standards, advance tooling
• Support customer and product alignment, contribute technical expertise in sales discussions
• Technically mentor colleagues and actively shape the path to Team Lead

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in AI/ML Engineering including MLOps ownership
• Very strong Python skills and practical experience with Azure (production environments)
• Expertise in NLP and computer vision (OCR) as well as cleanly tested code
• Fluent English and German (C1+) and willingness to be in the Munich office 2 days per week
• Experience with Terraform is a plus, but not a must
• Proactive communication, hands-on mentality, and focus on solution-oriented work

What doesn't work here

• No German language skills – communication with customers and the team is impossible
• Purely academic background without productive deployments – we need practical experience
• Unwillingness to work hybrid – at least two days on-site are mandatory
• Lack of Python and Azure skills – core technologies of the platform
