(Senior) AI-Engineer & Architect (m/w/d)
Job description
Vollzeit · Hybrid · Berlin
About us
LexMind develops a KI-based platform for automated analysis of websites and webshops.
Our goal is to evaluate publicly accessible website content, extract relevant data, and use modern AI technologies to automatically check legal and regulatory questions – particularly in the area of data protection and compliance.
LexMind is part of the eRecht24 GmbH & Co. KG group – a well-established LegalTech provider with high market presence. We combine the stability of a mature company group with the dynamics of a technology-driven startup.
Tasks
- Architecture design, development, and integration of AI applications in existing systems
- BUILDING robust analysis and data processing pipelines
- Processing structured and unstructured website content
- Integration of AI components (e.g., ML models or LLMs)
- Experience with KI and agent-based architecture (e.g., tool integration, MCP, A2A)
- Nice to have: Application of Python for analytical tasks (e.g., text analysis, NLP)
- Development and maintenance of APIs
- Conceptualization and implementation of new features and applications
- Conducting code reviews and actively ensuring code quality
- Active participation in shaping technical concepts, architectures, and development standards
- Sustained reduction of technical debt and continuous improvement of existing systems
- CLOSE collaboration with product management and the developer team
Qualification
- Degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python is available
- At least 3 years of experience in AI development, deployment, and operation with demonstrable successful results are available
- Excellent understanding of system architecture and scalable applications
- Experience with data-intensive or analytical systems
- Understanding of different data models (relational, document-based, or graph-based)
- You have not experienced KI as a hype – but actively shaped the pre-ChatGPT era – Transformers, RLHF, early LLM experiments
- You have brought at least one system into production that has failed under real conditions with real users – and repaired it
- You have built systems that break under load – and know how to design them correctly: latency, token budget, context window, fallback strategies
- You think in layers: infrastructure, model, API design, product UX – and lose none of these from view
- You do not believe in a single provider. You design so that models remain interchangeable
- You take responsibility for code quality and technical decisions beyond your own code
- You are able to present your work and the solutions you have developed
- You are solution-oriented, offer options to achieve a desired result, and provide professional recommendations that you explain and justify
- You bring a structured, quality-conscious, and self-responsible working approach with you
- Your communication strength, excellent team skills, and enjoyment of teamwork in interdisciplinary teams round out your profile
Benefits
- Salary range: 48,000–80,000 € gross per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
- 30 days' vacation
- Hybrid work model with home office possibility and free office location selection in Dortmund, Magdeburg, or Berlin
- Germany ticket for travel throughout Germany
- Company-sponsored further education for professional and personal development
- Company events for exchange and team cohesion
- Modern work equipment and a professional development environment
- Short decision-making paths and genuine technical design freedom
- Free drinks in the office
- You get to decide on your own IT equipment (Linux, Windows, or Mac – your choice)
- Casual dress code
How we work
- Small, focused development teams
- Tight collaboration between development and product
- Clear responsibilities instead of micromanagement
- Pragmatism over dogmatism
- Space for technical decisions and continuous improvement
