Senior AI Engineer / AI Technical Lead for Research Project in Software Company (w/m/d)

You have a passion for building something new in the field of KI and not just maintaining existing systems?

We are looking for you to take on a central role in a research project funded by the state of NRW – at the interface between research, prototyping, and real-world applications in administration and healthcare.

Together with a university in NRW and other project partners, we develop KI-based assistant systems for the Mittelstand. The position is designed for 3 years as part of a research project, with the goal of taking you over to Coduct long-term afterwards.

We are Coduct Solutions GmbH, a tech consulting company with locations in Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin). Together with our subsidiary in Vietnam, our group develops tailored software and KI solutions.

Aufgaben

Technical Leadership in the Research Project

• You take over technical leadership for our project area and drive our work package forward
• You write concepts, make architectural decisions, and are responsible for implementing components
• You decide which approaches are realistic – and find solutions when they're not

Anforderungsanalyse & echte Use Cases

• You speak with stakeholders and partners and understand where KI can really help
• You structure requirements and translate complex processes into functional technical solutions for concrete problem statements (e.g. information preparation or communication between organizations)

Prototyping & iterative Development

• You develop functional prototypes (e.g. LLM systems, chatbots, assistant solutions)
• You test these regularly together with project partners in realistic scenarios
• You consider topics such as data protection, data security, and regulatory requirements (e.g. in the public sector)

Zusammenarbeit im Forschungsumfeld

• You work closely with a university, project partners, and interdisciplinary teams
• You participate in workshops, tests, and exchange formats and bring your perspective actively into play

Dokumentation & Strukturierung

• You document architectural decisions, insights, and results so that others can build on them
• You ensure that results do not remain
