SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £12.50 - £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Thornton, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in Key Stage 1 with additional needs.

This rewarding position involves working closely with pupils who require additional support due to a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. You’ll be part of a nurturing team, helping children access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school setting
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training) are desirable but not essential

• Provide 1:1 and small group support in KS1 classrooms
• Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs
• Support emotional regulation and social development
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and planning
