Tasks

What You Can Expect from Us

• Daily monitoring of security infrastructure, both internally and externally, including analysis of system and security logs.
• Conducting vulnerability tests and evaluating CVEs.
• Creating recommendations for the technical team to address security gaps.
• Configuring and monitoring security rules in protective products (e.g. Microsoft Defender, WithSecure).
• Analyzing alarm messages and deriving suitable measures.
• Ensuring compliance with security guidelines and regulations.
• Ongoing monitoring of security sources (e.g. CVE databases, manufacturer forums, security blogs) to identify new vulnerabilities that affect relevant systems (Microsoft 365, virtualization, firewalls, operating systems, etc.).

Qualification

What You Bring

Fundamental IT Understanding:

• Networks, packet transfer, firewalls, OSI reference model.
• Basics of operating systems, file systems, kernel processes.
• Virtualization technologies.
• Able to recognize potential attack points (e.g. malware).

Security Monitoring & Log Analysis

• Experience with SIEM systems
• Knowledge in log analysis (Linux and Windows logs, syslog)
• Able to recognize anomalies and security incidents
• Experience with Microsoft 365, particularly:
• Identity and access management (MFA, conditional access).

Vulnerability Management

• Handling vulnerability scanners
• Analyzing and evaluating CVE data (NVD, CVE details)
• Creating recommendations to address vulnerabilities

Network and System Security

• Fundamental knowledge in network analysis
• Port and service scanning
• Basics of penetration testing

Automating & Scripting

• PowerShell for Windows environments
• Bash for Linux systems
• Fundamental knowledge in Python for automating security checks

Compliance & Documentation

• Understanding of ISO 27001, BSI Grundschutz
• Able to create security reports and documentation

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking: Ability to interpret complex security data
• Self-reliance: Independent work in the evening hours
• Communication skills: Clear recommendations for technical teams
• Reliability & accuracy: High attention to detail during security testing

Nice-to-have

• Certifications like CompTIA Security+, CEH, or ISO 27001 knowledge.
• Experience with automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
