About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Scrub/Scout Nurses to join a busy private hospital theatre team. We have openings for a Major Orthopaedic Scrub/Scout as well as ENT/Plastics Scrub/Scouts. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled perioperative nurses to contribute to high-quality surgical care across multiple specialties in a professional and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking experienced Scrub/Scout Nurses to join a busy private hospital theatre team. We have openings for a Major Orthopaedic Scrub/Scout as well as ENT/Plastics Scrub/Scouts. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled perioperative nurses to contribute to high-quality surgical care across multiple specialties in a professional and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies efficiently during surgery
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure smooth procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical instruments, implants, and specimens
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues, anaesthetists, and surgical teams
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training
- Orthopaedics: Assist with major procedures, including joint replacements and trauma cases, handling implants and specialised instruments.
- ENT / Plastics: Support delicate procedures with smaller, precision instruments; may include reconstructive or aesthetic surgeries.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Previous perioperative experience in orthopaedics, ENT, or plastics preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, implants, and procedures
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
- Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care
