Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Belt Picker to join our Steel Recycling Centre. As a Belt Picker, you will play a critical role in the recycling process by sorting and segregating scrap metal materials on conveyor belts.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and remove non-metal materials from the conveyor belt
- Sort and segregate ferrous and non-ferrous metals into designated containers
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management
Qualifications - Previous experience in a recycling or waste management facility preferred
- Ability to differentiate between different types of metals
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to protocols
- Reliable and punctual
Day-to-Day - Work on conveyor belt line, sorting and segregating metals
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective material sorting
- Communicate with supervisors and maintenance staff regarding any issues
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
