Job description

About Us

Kijimea – From Research. For Your Life. Since our founding in 2011, we have pursued a clear vision: We want to specifically utilize the potential of the microbiota (bacteria) in our gut for a longer and healthier life – for everyone.

We achieved a first major milestone on this path as early as 2013 with the discovery and clinical research of the unique bacterial strain B. bifidum MIMBb75 (Kijimea Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Since then, we have been able to significantly improve the lives of millions of irritable bowel syndrome patients worldwide. Today, B. bifidum MIMBb75 is one of the most researched bacterial strains worldwide. Its efficacy and unique mechanism of action have been proven and published in numerous clinical studies – including in renowned journals such as The Lancet.

We work with leading research institutions such as Charité Berlin to investigate the connections between the microbiota (bacteria in our gut) and allergies, skin diseases, and mental disorders. In short: We are investigating how the bacteria in our gut influence a longer and healthier life.

Today, we are among the fastest-growing healthcare companies worldwide. We reach our customers through various channels: direct communication with doctors and pharmacists, as well as print, TV, and digital marketing. To further expand our strongly growing business in Europe, we are looking for outstanding talents to support us in this mission. Our goal is clearly defined: by 2028, we want to make Kijimea the world's largest DTC probiotic brand, thereby giving over 50 million people a better life annually.

Does this sound exciting to you? Then apply now! We look forward to getting to know you.

Your Mission with Us

Do you want to help shape the regulatory strategy for innovative microbiota products in one of Europe's fastest-growing healthcare companies and actively drive our international market access? Then you've come to the right place!

We are looking for a Scientific Project Manager, starting immediately, who will independently drive our key projects – from product development to international market entries – at the interface of Research & Development and Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, with sound scientific expertise, structured thinking, and a convincing demeanor.

Become part of an ambitious team and help us build Kijimea into the world's leading probiotic brand.

Your Responsibilities

At the interface of Research & Development and Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, you will be responsible for strategic projects, including:

  • New Product Development: Develop groundbreaking new products together with our marketing teams – from dietary supplements and medical devices to pharmaceuticals.

  • Product Further Development: Systematically research the latest scientific findings on the microbiome and relevant regulatory developments, and derive well-founded recommendations for management.

  • Establishment of New CMOs: Build a strong network of suppliers with us – from scientific evaluation to the successful qualification of new partners.

  • Internationalization: Bring Kijimea to new countries with us and accompany the international market entries of our products.

You will be the scientific counterpart to your colleagues in the project team, serve as the central point of contact in the project for complex quality-related, regulatory, and scientific issues – both internal and external – and define concrete tasks and project milestones.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a degree with a scientific background, e.g., in human medicine, pharmacy, biology, or management & technology.

  • You already have practical experience in Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, Medical Affairs, or comparable strategic areas in the healthcare industry or a comparable industry, and ideally possess initial project management skills.

  • You combine strong strategic and analytical thinking with a "hands-on" mentality, a high degree of solution orientation, and are accustomed to acting as an "all-rounder" in a dynamic environment.

  • You enjoy taking responsibility, proactively drive topics forward, and are a true team player (w/m/d) with a high degree of initiative and goal orientation.

  • You are strong in communication in German (minimum C1 level) and English (minimum B2 level) and can quickly grasp complex topics, structure them logically, and present them in a target-group-oriented manner for internal and external stakeholders.

  • You are not afraid to tackle and implement new topics.

Our Promise

We offer you a diverse, demanding job with exciting tasks and a wide range of opportunities for development! Our innovative environment allows for your professional growth with short decision-making paths, responsibility from day 1, and the freedom to forge new paths. Individual learning and real meaning await you – give millions of people a new life with your personal contribution!
