Most people have none. The design comes from the consulting firm, and internally it is tested and accepted. Here it is the other way around. The consulting firm implements, and you design.

The Company

Our client is a globally active industrial company with around 15 locations worldwide, which is converting its complete ERP environment to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud. Not as a lift and shift, but as an opportunity to rethink global business processes and map them in one system. It is one of the most important transformation projects the company is undertaking this decade. The role sits on the Enterprise Architecture Board, with direct influence on the ERP roadmap.

What it's about

Business departments formulate requirements. What they actually need is rarely stated. Recognizing the difference between the two and translating it into a design that implementation partners can build without further questions is the core of this role. You are the technical link between business departments and external partners, with the IT department supporting you. Not as a moderator, but as an authority who decides how a process will look in the system.

• You will develop and be responsible for the solution design for the implementation of the new global ERP system on S/4HANA Private Cloud.
• You will analyze and evaluate complex requirements from business departments to determine how they are mapped in the system, distinguishing between what is requested and what is needed.
• You will conduct requirements workshops, take responsibility for customizing, and perform functional and integration tests.
• You will lead IT projects with responsibility for scope and budget.
• You will coordinate solution designs with business departments and the ERP team and create the appropriate functional tests.
• You will conduct process analyses and process optimizations and develop concepts for user interaction and master data.
• You will design solutions that cover both national and international requirements simultaneously.
• You will manage external service providers, review their results, and ensure implementation.

• At least five years of professional experience, including three years in ERP consulting or ERP projects.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud and the ability to design processes in a way that they are implementable.
• Understanding of production processes and their mapping in SAP.
• Experience in SAP customizing and debugging, ideally also in migration or transformation projects.
• Consulting competence and a presence that carries weight in workshops with business department management and implementation partners.
• Completed degree in an IT-related field or a comparable education.
• Very good German and English language skills.
