SAP Coordinator (m/f/d) – Interfaces, Authorizations & Service Provider Control

About our Client

Our client is an internationally active industrial supplier in the mobility sector with its headquarters in the greater Kassel area. The company is growing on a very solid order basis, and IT is intended to support this growth with stable systems.

Why this Role?

The SAP system runs on ECC 6.0, has grown over the years, and is to be converted to S/4HANA. The basis is operated by an external service provider, and a key user concept is being developed in the functional areas. We are looking for the person who will technically hold it all together.

• Because you will bear responsibility for a SAP backend that runs reliably.

• Because you will accompany the transition from ECC to S/4HANA from the very beginning.

• Because you will clarify responsibilities and create structures that will remain.

These are your tasks

• You will keep an eye on background jobs, IDoc processing, RFC connections, EDI routes, and connected third-party systems. You will analyze errors using dumps, logs, and traces and follow them to resolution.

• You will coordinate the basis service provider for upgrades, patches, and performance topics, and later also for the switch to S/4HANA, and demand results.

• You will review requirements and determine whether you will implement them yourself, commission the service provider, or pass the task on to the functional department.

• You will support the functional departments in setting up their key user roles.

• You will handle user and role administration yourself, SAPscript and Smartforms adjustments, job scheduling, system messages, and minor technical changes.

• You will document the system landscape and processes in writing so that knowledge remains within the company.

To clarify: Installation, database, and operating system are the responsibility of the basis service provider. You will control them and be the point of contact for everything in the SAP environment for which there is no clear responsibility yet.

This is what you bring

• An IT-related or commercial apprenticeship or a degree

• Several years of SAP experience in the in-house operation of a company, ideally with ECC 6.0

• Technical depth: You can read dumps and traces, know jobs, transports, and tables, and speak with the basis service provider on an equal footing

• Practical experience with IDocs, RFC, and EDI, as well as with roles and authorizations (PFCG, SU53)

• Experience in projects and in managing external partners, plus persistence in following up

• Very good German and good English

• Advantageous: Experience with middleware and initial contact with S/4HANA
