Requirements

As an SAP ABAP Technical Consultant, you will act as a technical subject matter expert responsible for the development, optimization, and operational support of Deloitte’s internal SAP systems. You will work closely with functional consultants and lead technical initiatives covering development, maintenance, upgrades, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Development & Delivery

• Act as the technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in identifying SAP application issues and providing timely, high-quality solutions.
  

• Translate business and functional requirements into detailed technical design specifications.
  

• Design, develop, code, document, test, and debug complex SAP ABAP programs.
  

• Develop and execute unit tests, system tests, integration tests, and user acceptance test support.
  

• Perform performance tuning to improve application efficiency across multiple SAP components.
  

• Write and maintain Technical Design Documents (TDD) and Testing Documentation.
  

SAP Customization & Enhancements

• Customize and test SAP solutions based on Functional and Technical Design documents for changes and problem resolutions.
  

• Apply SAP modification concepts including Enhancement Points, BADIs, and User Exits.
  

• Initiate and support changes related to SAP Support Packages and Enhancement Packs in collaboration with Lead Consultants.
  

• Optimize SAP modules through proactive analysis, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  

Integration & Architecture

• Develop and support SAP Gateway services (OData, SOAP, REST).
  

• Support SAP integration technologies including IDocs, PI/PO proxies, Web Services, and other interfaces.
  

• Ensure integration system activities meet SLA requirements related to scalability, availability, monitoring, and archiving.
  

• Work with XSLT transformations and data exchange mechanisms.
  

Operations & Support

• Participate in maintenance and support activities including Incident and Problem Management.
  

• Provide operational support during scheduled change windows and on-call rotations as required.
  

• Support ongoing development and enhancement of Deloitte Netherlands’ internal SAP systems.
  

• Collaborate with functional leads and cross-technical teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  
  

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  

• 7–10 years of relevant SAP ABAP experience

• Workflow (ABAP Workflow)

• SAP Forms (Adobe Interactive Forms, SmartForms)

• Strong understanding of at least one SAP Functional Area
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
