SAP ABAP Developer / Developer (m/f/d)

For our SAP Business Unit, we are looking for someone who wants more than just pure background development: ABAP development, customer understanding, and technical co-thinking go hand in hand with us. You will work on diverse SAP projects, predominantly in the HCM environment, develop clean solutions, and advise our customers where technology and business meet. Strengthen our team as an SAP ABAP Developer / Developer (m/f/d) at our main location in Heidelberg, in our office in Magdeburg, or remotely from your home in Germany.

Tasks

• Advising our customers on the technical implementation of their requirements in diverse SAP projects – predominantly in the HCM environment, but also in other SAP modules and system landscapes
• Development of customer-specific backend solutions with ABAP OO and modern SAP technologies
• Analysis, conception, and implementation of enhancements, reports, services, and interfaces between SAP and other systems
• Use of suitable technologies depending on the project context, e.g., CDS Views, OData, SAP Gateway, RAP, Fiori Elements, or classic enhancement concepts
• Further development of existing SAP systems where legacy structures and modern development approaches are sensibly combined
• Technical assessment of requirements, solution design, and direct coordination with customers, consultants, and developers
• Error analysis, debugging, quality assurance, and clean documentation of your developments
• Independent processing of your own development topics – with professional exchange, sparring, and support within the team

Qualifications

• Experience in SAP development with ABAP and classic SAP development technologies such as reports, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, enhancements, and interfaces
• Good knowledge in modern ABAP development in the SAP S/4HANA environment, especially with CDS Views, RAP, and OData
• Experience with Fiori Elements and SAPUI5 is an advantage, but not a must
• Experience with development tools such as ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse
• Understanding of software architecture, clean code, and sustainable software development
• Analytical and structured way of working, as well as strong problem-solving skills
• Very good German and good English skills
• A little bit of travel readiness – business trips are rather rare, but they do occur :)
