Sales Engineer

Are you technically skilled and find it challenging to translate customer needs into practical and innovative solutions? As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in advising and supporting customers and the Inside Sales Team with technical expertise regarding lighting systems.

Your Role

Provide technical expertise and support (second-line support) in advising customers and the Inside Sales Team with the goal of optimal composition and validation of customer orders & optimal deployment of standard products.

Responsibilities:

• Determine whether requests can be supplied with standard products or must be supplied with custom-made products
• Ensure a well-thought-out and functional lighting system made from standard products
• Technical validation of orders (systems) with standard products
• Provide the correct technical advice
• Timely handover to Solution Designer for custom-made products and/or systems

Authorizations:

• Sign offers and technical specifications Orders up to 25,000 euros can be executed independently. Above this amount, a handover to the Solution Designer is required
• Access to the warehouse and assembly workshop
• Decide on modifications and approval of technical drawings
• Coordinate production activities within established budgets
• Identify deviations and propose improvements

Tasks:

• Provide technical advice and second-line support to Inside Sales and customers on the composition of lighting systems
• Review customer orders and ensure all products for the lighting system are correctly specified and work together
• Timely and complete handover of custom-made products and/or systems to the Solution Designer
• Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to customers, partners, and internal teams
• Transfer product knowledge to the Inside Sales team
• Technically represent and promote OneEightyOne (products) at industry events and trade shows

Who we are looking for

• HBO work and thinking level with a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a similar field
• Minimum of two years of experience in designing and developing lighting solutions
• Technical knowledge of LED lighting and experience with CAD software and design tools
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
• Experience with project management and customer communication
• Accuracy and attention to quality
• Problem-solving skills and creative thinking
• Team-oriented and strong communication skills
