Safety Engineer

Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer Location: Wisconsin Duration: Long Term Functional Safety Compliance: Work with cross-functional and global teams within Product Development to conduct the ISO 19014 Functional Safety process to support the analysis of new and existing technology including Powertrain, Hydraulics, EV, and other systems Plan & coordinate all necessary functional safety activities encompassing the life cycle of the product, while also defining project responsibilities regarding the development, testing, and validation of products that meet or exceed industry standards for functional safety Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and ASIL-D Define and implement a comprehensive functional safety management plan to ensure the safe design, development, production, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of products Identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks associated with new and existing technologies Develop and maintain documentation for all functional safety activities, including risk assessments, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and fault tree analysis (FTA) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions for identified hazards and risks Provide training and support to product development teams on functional safety principles and practices Conduct audits and reviews of product development processes to ensure compliance with functional safety requirements Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of functional safety-related information, including standards, regulations, and industry best practices
