About the Role

As a Rollingstock Technician, you’ll ensure our trains run safely and efficiently. You’ll carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on rail rollingstock, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance. This is a hands-on role where you’ll respond to breakdowns, support upgrades, and work collaboratively to improve fleet performance.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs
• Diagnose and rectify faults using diagnostic tools
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
• Respond to operational incidents, including after-hours callouts

Requirements

Essential Skills Required:

• Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience in heavy vehicle, rail, or industrial maintenance
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Commitment to safety and quality standards

Desirable Skills:

• Previous rail industry experience
• Knowledge of rail-specific systems and standards
• Welding/fabrication skills
