Rogueing Seed Carrot Worker - Longford, TAS

The Role
We're looking for motivated and detail-focused Rogueing Seed Carrot Worker to join the agriculture sector in Longford, Tasmania, helping with the rouging of seed carrots. This hands-on role is based outdoors and requires precision, teamwork, and a strong focus on maintaining crop quality. Working within a supportive field team, you'll play a key part in ensuring the success of the upcoming seed carrot harvest.

Key Responsibilities
The role is all about protecting crop quality by identifying and removing plants that don't meet the required standards. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Identifying and removing all off-type plants (rogues) that differ from the main seed carrot line
• Using Dutch hoes to carefully chip out off-types, preventing regrowth
• Collaborating with your team to build confidence in identifying off-types, especially at the start of each day
• Staying focused on rogue removal, including plants in the "no-man's land" between male and female beds
• Understanding field layouts, recognising differences between male and female seed carrot plants
• Recording rogue removals through counts, photos, and notes on field areas
• Assisting with additional fieldwork such as weed removal and rock picking when required

Your Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Strong ability to distinguish between true-type and off-type carrot plants
• Excellent attention to detail and visual awareness
• Previous fieldwork or agricultural experience (highly regarded)
• Physical stamina and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
