Job Description

For our Client, we are looking for a Robotics Engineer with knowledge of ROS/ROS2 for fully remote work. The person in this position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software for mobile robots and manipulators, integrating perception sensors, and developing navigation and motion planning algorithms. The role also includes working in simulation environments, testing on real hardware, and close collaboration with mechanical and electronic teams.

Tasks Performed

  1. Designing and implementing robot software based on the ROS2 framework

  2. Developing and maintaining nodes, topics, and services in the ROS/ROS2 architecture

  3. Implementing navigation, localization, and mapping (SLAM) algorithms

  4. Integrating perception sensors (LiDAR, RGB-D cameras, IMU) with the robot system

  5. Programming and tuning motion planning and collision avoidance algorithms

  6. Working in simulation environments (Gazebo, RViz, MoveIt) before deployment on real hardware

  7. Testing and debugging software on physical robotic platforms

  8. Collaborating with mechanical and electronic teams on hardware-software integration

  9. Optimizing performance and stability of real-time systems

  10. Writing and maintaining technical documentation and coding standards

  11. Participating in code reviews and implementing good software engineering practices

  12. Collaborating with the product team in defining robot functional requirements

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial experience working with ROS or ROS2

  • Practical knowledge of navigation, localization, and SLAM issues

  • Experience working with Gazebo, RViz, and/or MoveIt simulators

  • Knowledge of perception sensors (LiDAR, RGB-D cameras, IMU) and their integration with the system

  • Very good knowledge of C++ and Python

  • Knowledge of working under Linux and real-time system fundamentals

  • Ability to work with Git and CI/CD tools

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Docker and basic cloud computing is a plus
