WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES IN SPAIN: You must be available to travel nationally and internationally (mainly to SPAIN and the USA). Our headquarters are located in Almussafes (Valencia), although you can reside anywhere else in Spain.

About the position

We are looking for a Robot Programmer specialized in Roller Hemming processes to join projects in automotive lines. The selected person will be responsible for the setup, programming, and optimization of robotic hemming cells, ensuring the geometric and surface quality required by the client.

This is a technical, field role with a strong component of on-site problem-solving and direct work on the production line.

Main Responsibilities

• Program and set up roller hemming robots on closure panels, adjusting trajectories, number of passes, roller angles, and force/pressure parameters.
• Optimize the process to achieve hemming quality objectives: roll-in, flatness, absence of marks, gaps, and visible surface finish.
• Perform fine adjustment on the hemming table and tooling, in coordination with quality and production.
• Diagnose and resolve geometric deviations and process defects (wrinkles, cracks, springback, roller marks).
• Support cell integration: signals, safety, interlocks with PLC, and synchronization with the rest of the line.
• Document programs, process parameters, and operating procedures.
• Provide support during production startup (SOP) and train plant personnel when necessary.

Essential Requirements

• Extensive demonstrable experience in robot programming in an automotive environment.
• Specific experience in roller hemming processes.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following platforms: KUKA, FANUC, or ABB (proficiency in multiple is a plus).
• Knowledge of hemming tooling: roller heads, tables, and hemming fixtures.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, panel quality criteria, and client specifications.
• Availability for site visits and shift work during commissioning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in OEM manufacturer lines (VASS, Tesla, Ford, etc.).
• Knowledge of collision analysis and offline simulation (Process Simulate, RobotStudio, Roboguide, KUKA.Sim).
• Handling of DI/DO signals, zone mapping, and diagnosis via robot backups.
• Knowledge of robotic safety standards: ISO 10218-1, ISO/TS 15066, ANSI/RIA R15.06.
• Technical English level for international projects.
