RN Oncology Unit - Nights
Job description
The Staff Pad has partnered with a hospital in Helena, Montana to find an Oncology Registered Nurse to join their team.
Shift: Full-time - Nights
The Oncology RN delivers compassionate, patient-centered care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment. This role provides both direct and indirect care within the Oncology Unit and serves as a resource for new or less experienced nurses. The RN prioritizes patient needs based on physical and psychosocial status and is prepared to support patients and families through complex issues including cancer pain management, end-of-life care, and altered body image. The nurse must demonstrate strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration, safe handling, drug properties, and expected side effects while educating patients and families throughout treatment. The RN also communicates changes in patient condition to the care team and responds quickly to clinical changes.
Qualifications:
Experience: Demonstrated ability to function independently as an Oncology RN.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification: Current Montana RN license and BLS required. Oncology Nursing Certification preferred. Completion of a chemotherapy/oncology course and competency required within 6–12 months of hire; annual competency updates required.
