Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX

The Retail Trainer designs and deploys training initiatives across the region. As such, they collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training needs, trends, and opportunities within the region, then create, adapt, and implement training programs in partnership with Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, and other relevant departments.

You will also contribute to regional training excellence through a combination of learning strategy, field coaching, and support for new store openings. You will be responsible for conducting New Store Opening (NSO) training, including during the "Basecamp" onboarding week. This includes planning and facilitating training programs for store openings across the region, as well as ensuring the quality and completion rate of NSO training.

In this role, you will manage the regional training calendar and be responsible for the effectiveness of training in your market. In-depth knowledge of retail operations and Arc'teryx training initiatives is essential for success in this role.

You will report to the Manager, Retail Training EMEA. You will need to be highly responsive to changing priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this function.

This position is based in Paris. Candidates must be fluent in the local language to support their market teams and will be required to work from stores in their region at least 3 days per week.

Key Performance Indicators for this Role

  • Deploy a regional training strategy aligned with business objectives and store performance.
  • Ensure new stores meet training readiness milestones before opening.
  • Achieve a high participation and adoption rate for key learning programs and initiatives.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Regional Managers and store leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness through feedback and performance analysis.
  • Promote a culture of learning, coaching, and development within EMEA South.

Your role within the Retail Training team is essential to the company's growth and achievement of its objectives. As part of the Store Development & Operations team, the Retail Training team supports the development of our store network and the realization of our commercial ambitions.

As a Retail Trainer – EMEA South, your responsibilities will include:

Regional Training Excellence

  • Collaborate with HQ teams on large-scale training initiatives.
  • Develop training strategies that promote engagement, knowledge retention, and program adoption.
  • Participate in the creation and/or lead the design and deployment of training content.
  • Utilize existing training materials, adapt them, and translate them into the local language, taking cultural specificities into account.
  • Deliver training and "train-the-trainer" sessions on initiatives, programs, products, and other training needs.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Arc'teryx store operations, leadership best practices, and product offerings.
  • Evaluate and communicate training strengths and areas for improvement in your region.
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in Arc'teryx products.
  • New Store Openings (NSO)

    • Deploy training related to new store openings, provide operational and merchandising support, and participate in inaugurations to ensure their success.
    • Collaborate closely with Retail Operations teams and NSO project managers to effectively integrate training into the overall opening process.
    • Ensure the coordination and implementation of all NSO program training.
    • Observe in-store teams, support them through coaching, and provide constructive feedback throughout the opening process.
    • Facilitate training meetings and calls dedicated to the openings for which you are responsible.
    • Escalate points of attention, obtain necessary alignments, and advise stakeholders on key decisions, expenditures, and actions related to the NSO training program.
    • Advise on potential budgets to be planned for each opening in your region.
    • Travel represents approximately 50 to 70% of working time and includes regular store visits, delivering regional training, and ongoing support for store openings.
    • Store Development and Coaching

    • Collaborate with Regional Managers and store management teams (Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, Leads) to ensure skill development and the quality of training paths.
    • Maintain a good understanding of the descriptions and responsibilities of all retail roles.
    • Audit in-store training and development practices and promote consistent and high-quality program implementation.
    • Work with Regional Managers to assess regional training needs and support new store openings.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy product and customer experience training for retail and wholesale activities.
    • Communicate with internal partners (Operations, Visual Merchandising, Brand, etc.) regarding specific training needs.
    • Develop strong relationships with store teams.

  • Adapt and deploy global training initiatives at the regional level.
  • Leverage performance data and learner feedback to continuously improve training effectiveness and its impact on business results.

  • Are you our next Retail Trainer – EMEA South?
  • Bachelor's degree level in Education, Training, Business, Project Management, or a similar field, with 3+ years of experience in retail management, training, or operational excellence/retail support roles.
  • Proven experience in designing, delivering, and deploying high-impact training programs that meet or exceed performance objectives.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization; fluent in French and English (Italian is a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and SharePoint.
  • Experience supporting store openings within an integrated retail environment, with strong availability for travel.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of responsibility, and a high capacity for adaptation in evolving and ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously while fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Passion for retail, talent development, and outdoor activities.
  • Working hours: Full-time | 5 days per week
