Smart Dollar operates mainly in shopping centres across New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead and manage the operations of our Smart Dollar Whitford City store. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of store management, drive sales performance, maintain excellent customer service, and supervise a team. This role requires hands-on leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to achieving business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily retail store operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
• Maintain strong customer service standards and support customer enquiries where required
• Manage product range, product mix, stock levels, replenishment, and inventory control
• Implement purchasing, merchandising, and pricing strategies aligned with store targets
• Coordinate in-store promotions, advertising, and marketing activities
• Monitor store sales performance and implement improvement strategies
• Maintain accurate records of stock movement and financial transactions
• Prepare and manage store budgets, including cost control initiatives
• Recruit, train, roster, supervise, and performance manage retail staff
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe work practices and reporting.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Minimum 1-year relevant retail management or supervisory experience (e.g. Store Manager, Retail Manager, Assistant Store Manager).
• Strong leadership capability with proven staff supervision and team management skills.
• Demonstrated experience in stock control, merchandising, purchasing, pricing, and inventory procedures.
• Ability to manage store operations including reporting, budgeting, and cost control.
• Proficiency in retail management systems, POS software, and store administration processes.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse sales data and make sound operational/business decisions.
• Availability to work a rotating retail roster, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Qualification: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma. Extensive relevant experience (generally at least 3 years) may substitute for formal qualifications.
