Our Dunedoo site is focused on providing reliable fuel supply, a safe and welcoming environment, and a great customer experience every time. With a culture built on integrity, teamwork, and performance, we place strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and service excellence at every level of our operations.We are now seeking a motivated and hands-on Retail Manager to lead the daily operations of our Dunedoo Shell service station and convenience store. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, operational excellence, and putting customers first.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team by managing rosters, training, and performance to ensure excellent service and sales outcomes.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the site, including the forecourt, retail store, and food/coffee areas.
- Manage stock levels and fuel deliveries, placing timely orders and minimising wastage and shrinkage.
- Support sales growth through effective local promotions and community engagement.
- Drive high standards of customer service, quickly resolving any issues to maintain loyalty.
- Take full accountability for site performance including sales targets, KPIs, labour costs, and operating expenses.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, fuel handling, food safety, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain rigorous cash handling procedures including reconciliation, banking, and record keeping.
- Keep the site presentation to brand standards with clear merchandising and promotional displays.
- Recruit, train, and mentor new team members while developing existing staff.
- Monitor competitor activity and make recommendations on pricing, product range, and promotions.
- Work with suppliers and contractors to ensure smooth operations and equipment maintenance.
- Apply effective loss-prevention practices and investigate discrepancies.
- Be available to work across different shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Management or a related field is desired, with equivalent experience also considered.
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management role (fuel or convenience retail experience is an advantage).
- Strong leadership skills, including experience in team recruitment, coaching, rostering, and performance management.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales growth and meeting KPIs.
- Solid understanding of stock management and fuel inventory processes.
- Confidence in cash handling, reconciliation, and use of POS/back-office systems.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food handling regulations with a commitment to compliance.
- A people-focused approach with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility and reliability to work across a range of shifts to meet business needs.
