Retail Guitar Repair Tech

As our Repair Tech (Guitar), you will provide perform maintenance, repair, and modification services to guitars and other stringed instruments, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, interacting with customers, diagnosing instrument issues, and executing repairs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Assess and diagnose the condition of guitars and stringed instruments brought in for repair. * Perform a wide range of repairs, including but not limited to: * Fret work (leveling, crowning, dressing, replacement) * Neck adjustments and setups * Electronic repairs and modifications (wiring, pickup installation, etc.) * Structural repairs (crack repair, bracing) * Cosmetic repairs (scratch removal, finish touch-ups) * Provide accurate estimates for repair services and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Follow established repair procedures and quality control standards. * Operate and maintain repair tools and equipment. * Stay up-to-date with industry trends, repair techniques, and new products. * Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously. * Assist with other store tasks as needed. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Proven experience in guitar repair, with a strong understanding of guitar construction, electronics, and setup. * Proficiency in the use of repair tools and equipment. * Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot instrument issues effectively. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform high-quality repairs. * Strong communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. * Knowledge of various guitar brands, models, and styles is a plus.
