Roads Department Manager

Roads Department Manager

Your mission

  • Technically, administratively, and financially manage the Roads Department (works, green spaces, roads, waste disposal centers, collectors, wastewater treatment plants, forests, beaches)
  • Supervise and support the team (10 employees), ensure their follow-up, and foster a positive work environment
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all departmental activities
  • Ensure the maintenance of municipal infrastructures, anticipate and prioritize works, in collaboration with the relevant municipal officials
  • Develop budgets, monitor construction sites, and draft reports for the municipal authorities
  • Organize and participate in the Roads Department on-call service
  • Manage the maintenance and renewal of the vehicle fleet
  • Contribute to the update of the land registry by transmitting modifications to the technical office
  • Collaborate closely with the water manager, the Municipality, and other municipal services
  • Represent the municipality in various bodies related to the field and participate in various commissions
  • Master and apply safety standards and legal requirements of municipal and cantonal regulations.

Your profile

  • Foreman's certificate or equivalent
  • Training or experience in construction management and site supervision
  • Mastery of road maintenance methods and standards, and ability to read and interpret plans
  • Experience in a managerial position with personnel management
  • Sense of organization, responsibility, and priorities
  • Spirit of initiative and anticipation, proactivity, and versatility
  • Leadership, interpersonal skills, and strong interest in public service
  • Driving license B, BE, forklift operator, and ideally M1 machinery operator
  • Mastery of French (spoken and written) and usual computer tools
  • Reside in the vicinity (. 30 minutes) due to on-call services
