Health and Safety Officer

Description of the position

Avizia RH is recruiting for its partner First Student, a company where safety is at the heart of priorities. The Health and Safety Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance, supporting teams, and setting exemplary practices to offer a secure environment both for employees and passengers.

Your responsibilities:

• Supervise and support security trainers
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and injuries, analyze causes, and recommend corrective measures
• Prepare and submit compliance reports, keep records up-to-date, and enter data into the system
• Train and accompany drivers and escorts on passenger management and safety practices
• Conduct route checks to evaluate driver performance
• Supervise employees responsible for security and training
• Produce reports and analyze trends in terms of safety

Sought-after profile:

• 2-3 years of experience in health and safety or transportation
• Diploma or equivalent in secondary education
• Knowledge of provincial and federal laws and regulations regarding safety and the environment
• Mastery of computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Punctuality and attendance
• Own a vehicle for travel within the service area
