Job Summary:

The Technical Events Engineering Team Lead is a leadership-oriented role within the Technical Events Engineering team that helps drive the overall success, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of team processes and performance. At the core of this function, they leverage their extensive technical knowhow, tradeshow experience, customer interaction acumen, and leadership skills to deliver success at tradeshows, events as well as experience centers. They lead the TEE team members in tasks and help ensure they are delivered successfully and on time. A key component of this role is to ensure team members have the tools and support needed to grow and nurture them on their career paths. In this capacity, they also interact and coordinate with other marketing, product, technology alliance, and engineering teams to make sure the team has all the elements needed to achieve its objectives. The Technical Events engineering Team Lead reports directly to the Senior Manager, Global Technical Events Engineering.

Your day at a glance:

  • In Team Lead capacity, delegates work to TEE team members to optimize efficiency in expertise and enhance effective performance and delivery of tasks
  • Acts as representative of the TEE team during tier 1 tradeshow kick-offs and is responsible for organizing demo calls with all stakeholders to ensure delivery based on set expectations
  • Acts as the defacto technical lead during all on site tradeshows and events setup
  • Provides guidance and motivation to direct report team members
  • Schedules and leads regular team and individual meetings to discuss projects and priorities with team members ensuring greater team alignment
  • Leads the collaborative efforts with the Genetec field sales organization to ensure they are empowered to fully leverage and demonstrate Genetec solutions through various channels (tradeshows, conferences, 1:1 sales demo, experience center visits)
  • Engages in tight collaboration with our technology partner representatives to incorporate and highlight partner technologies, together with Genetec, to showcase total solutions
  • Identifies and organizes workshops and training sessions that help build technical knowledge within the team
  • Leads ongoing process reviews to ensure team workflows are efficient and scalable, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements that enhance productivity and cross-functional collaboration

Your technical expertise:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Physical Security or Technology Sales
  • Networking skills (TCP/IP, configure network switches and routers, wireless)
  • Experience in deploying software, operating systems and databases
  • Creating and deploying images, working in virtualized environments
  • Developing training guides or sales-oriented demonstration content
  • Significant technical experience and aptitude mixed with creative vision
  • Experience working with both marketing and product teams
