Team Description
SumUp is accelerating the deployment of its field sales teams in France, and this managerial position will shape this growth in Toulouse, bringing our payment and management tools to small businesses in the region. The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of independent field sales consultants, personally handling acquisitions initially while building the structure, culture, and coaching model that will drive the region forward. This is an opportunity to build a region from the ground up, with potential evolution into a Territory Manager role as the team and business grow, reporting to the Head of Region France.
Your Responsibilities
-
Lead and develop a team of independent field sales consultants, building the necessary skills and culture to succeed in the market
-
Drive the region's revenue acquisition targets, manage the acquired merchant portfolio, and grow it through cross-selling and upselling
-
Set the bar for sales performance, embedding a culture of coaching and accountability within the field team
-
Shape sales tools, from presentation decks to supporting content, to enable the team to compete and win
-
Maintain a strong presence in the field, conduct merchant audits, and translate market knowledge into actionable initiatives
-
Define the region's competitive strategy and keep senior stakeholders informed of progress
You are a good fit for this role if…
-
Proven experience in leading and developing sales teams, including coaching independent consultants towards sustainable performance
-
Experience in building a region or commercial territory from scratch, with the necessary structure to scale it
-
Solid understanding of merchant services, payments, POS systems, or B2B sales to SMEs, for instance in hospitality or travel
-
Fluent in French and English, with credibility to operate in multicultural environments and with diverse stakeholders
-
Strategic and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to lead through the uncertainty of a high-growth market
