Job description
Responsible for the organization of the city of Vevey's preschool and after-school care, the family sector also administers the Vevey Daycare Network.
In your capacity as assistant manager of one of the four preschool and after-school care spaces (EAP-UAP), open Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, you have the following missions and responsibilities:
- Assist the manager in the management of the facility in accordance with current cantonal directives
- Support the manager in the management and animation of the preschool and after-school care space
- Assist the manager in the steering and supervision of the facility's staff
- Ensure the well-being of children in collaboration with the manager and educational staff
- Ensure the inspection and sanitary condition of the institution
- Actively contribute with the manager to the implementation and development of the facility's pedagogical concept as well as the pedagogical guidelines for different age groups
- Schedule arrival interviews with parents for the concerned groups
- Manage and plan the care of interns and apprentices for the entire facility
- Collaborate closely on the establishment of the annual budget and purchases, and control expenses
- Participate in the meetings of the program managers
This position requires:
- A Federal Diploma of Higher Education (HES) or a diploma from a University of Applied Sciences (HES) as an early childhood educator or equivalent qualification recognized by the Cantonal Service for Child Daycare (SCAJE)
- A CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in team management required, or to be completed within 2 years
- At least 4 years of experience in the field of childcare, preferably with personnel management
- Knowledge of the challenges related to collective preschool and after-school care and proven experience in the participatory development of projects
- A strong sense of responsibility and proven organizational skills
- Perfect autonomy, open-mindedness, and listening skills
- Adaptability, stress resistance, and availability
- Good knowledge of common computer tools
We offer a pleasant, varied, and dynamic work environment within a system comprising 11 UAPs and 4 preschool care facilities.
