Job description
- To provide teaching and learning support such as preparation of resources / materials for Science laboratory activities, enrichment programmes and competitions including the cleaning up after laboratory lessons and when required;
To label and maintain records of existing and new Science teaching and learning materials and laboratory apparatus;
- To ensure laboratory equipment, materials and specimens are in good working conditions. Conduct stock-take at least twice a year.
Assist to update the stock record and breakage record to initiate ordering of replacements, when necessary;
- To ensure proper disposal of waste materials such as sharp waste objects and chemicals;
To carry out housekeeping of the Science laboratories and Science storerooms and to ensure that they are clean and conducive for lessons;
- To ensure safety of students in the Science rooms. Record and report any incidents to Science HOD. Maintain a laboratory incident log book;
To replenish laboratory materials and ensure that all the first-aid boxes in special rooms are well equipped with necessary materials and medicine;
- To check that safety devices in the laboratory, such as emergency eye-washers, showers and fire extinguishers are working;
To do filing and general cleaning of equipment;
- To perform any duties assigned by the HODs and Level Representatives.
Requirement:
Minimally N Level or equivalent;
Able to speak and write in English;
Have good interpersonal skills, pleasant disposition and be meticulous and a team player;
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines;
Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications. Must be able to learn new IT skills;
PREFERABLY have experience working in a school environment.
Duration/ Working hours:
1 year contract ( 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026)
Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays: 7am to 5pm, Wednesday, Thursday 7am to 4.30pm, inclusive of one (1) hour lunch break Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
